I can’t remember the last time I wore a 2 piece. Just the thought of it alone freaked me out until I went along on this Self Love journey that has me feeling completely different about myself and about my body. I used to go to the public pool with the kids, with a one piece on- a pair of shorts over it, AND a dress on top flowy enough to not show any lady lumps 🤣. Meanwhile I doubt anyone at the pool could care less about what i had on or that I had stretch-marks. 🤷🏻‍♀️. Life is too short to feel paralyzed with fear because of how our bodies look. It’s ridiculous. This is me, in my 2 piece, my DDD boobs, my cellulite and my stretch-marks. and I don’t feel anything but beautiful. FINALLY. I wish every woman I know could get to this place of Self Love! It feels amazing. (Swimsuit is from @cocoreefswim and you can use my code PROSA20 for a discount! #cocoreefswim

It’s always important to remember that “body goals” should simply be a healthy body that makes YOU happy and confident! For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been very conscious of the way that my body looked. I often felt too big, or too small…just simply never enough. It’s this weird mindset that we often get stuck in that we think once we lose some weight or gain some abs, suddenly all our problems will disappear, or we’d somehow become happier. Let me tell you from experience, having a “perfect” body didn’t bring me any special happiness that I didn’t already have inside of me but thinking that I was somehow flawed definitely brought me a ton of unnecessary suffering. Don’t ever compare yourself to someone else. Your physical, mental, and spiritual journeys aren’t meant to be the same. You are uniquely made for a purpose. So, today I hope you take some time to love your body, ensure you’re on a healthy path in taking care of it, and truly embrace your unique self for who you are. Leave me a comment below and tell me one thing you love about your physical self ♥️✨ #sponsored Swimsuit: @cocoreefswim (code SRUTHI20) 📷: @prannamusic • • • • • #bodypositivity #wellnessfromwithin #selfiesforselflove #everybodyisbeautiful #bodyacceptance #mindfulness #summerfashion #summerstyle #cocoreefswim #fashiondiaries #styleblogger #thesruthistandard

Bra Sized Swimwear: A Summer Necessity

April 25, 2017

Bra Sized Swimwear from Coco Reef Swim

Whether you’re relaxing poolside or on a tropical beach vacation, having the right bra sized swimwear can make your day completely stress-free. After all, you have other things to worry about than how your swimsuit fits.

Bra sized swimwear combines the support and comfort of a bra with the style and functionality of a swimsuit. For many women, the additional support is not only welcomed – it’s a necessity. Swimsuit shopping in general is an event that most women dread and for women with a large bust it can bring even more trouble.

While bra sized swimwear is ideal for women looking for bust support, women of all shapes and sizes can benefit from it. Details such as removable soft cups, underwire construction and built-in bust support make swim bra’s stand out.

Swimsuits by bra size are made and cut to fit a specific cup and band size, taking the guessing game out of extra small through large sizing. After all, everybody is different. By being able to select your exact cup size, you’re certain to get a perfectly fitted bathing suit.

Underwire construction in your bra creates lift, support, and desirable cleavage. The same goes for underwire tankinisunderwire bikinis and underwire one piece swimsuits. Not only will you feel secure in your bathing suit, you’ll feel more confident as you highlight your curves.

Bra Sized Swimwear by Coco Reef White Label

In addition to underwire construction, some bra sized swimwear may feature molded cups or removable soft cups. These design elements provide shapely support and create a sleek swimsuit look.

Adjustable and removable thick straps offer support. Unlike thinner, flimsy straps – swimsuits with thick adjustable straps are strong and durable, keeping you secure and confident.

The purchase of a quality, perfection-fit bra sized swimwear is a great investment. Swimwear created with these innovative features and bra sizing technology helps take the agony out of swimsuit shopping. You know you’re getting an excellent addition to your summer wardrobe that will last for seasons to come.

It’s these details that define and set Coco Reef Swimwear apart from other bra sized swimwear on the market. Made by women, for women, we know how hard it is to find a swimsuit that fits well and makes you feel as confident as you should. Our bra size swimwear is available in cup sizes C, D, DD, E and F making it the perfect swimwear for large busts.  Having been in business for over ten years, we know a thing or two about quality, perfection-fit swimwear.

Diving In with Alex Underwood

December 9, 2016
Alex Underwood, Alexandra Underwood, Alexandra Elise Underwood
Welcome Back to Diving In, a new series where we sit down and discuss body confidence with inspiring women. In this piece, we sit down with American Model, Alex Underwood. Underwood is not just beautiful but passionate too. She is the founder of The Unwanteds Project, a horse rescue that brings awareness to the abuse that these beautiful animals face. Alex stars in Coco Reef’s newest campaign, Flaunt Your Shape. The campaign focuses on embracing the body positivity movement and encouraging women to show off their bodies. The goal is to show women that being who they are is not only good enough, it’s perfect.
How did you become body positive? What was the journey to accepting and loving your body like?
“I had a really big moment happen in the eighth grade. I’d always had problems making friends with girls growing up and I had recently been invited to hang out with a special group of girls. While hanging out with them, I realized they talked so badly about themselves. I remember listening and thinking, they sound silly! I don’t see any of this. And I didn’t want to sound that way. I guess I made a pact with myself that day – to accept and love myself.”
What advice would you give your younger self?
Stop skipping class! And don’t sweat the small things.
Alexandra Underwood, Alex Underwood, Alexandra Elise Underwood

What is your life motto?
‘Never forget that the pressures of modern life are only a man-made game. You can take a break whenever you wish. It isn’t necessary to stress yourself to the level of those around you. Take nothing as seriously as your universal right to seek peace’
What advice would you give for someone struggling with confidence and body acceptance?

If you’re finding it hard to move past a body issue or hard to gain momentum to your body loving goal… try eliminating the outside influences. For instance: I gave up Facebook five years ago and monthly magazines. I immediately felt relieved. They say you are what you eat but to broaden that- you are what you consume. Give yourself substance in all areas of life. Your self love journey is yours and yours alone.

How do you ‘Flaunt Your Shape?
For me, comfort is everything and comfort equals confidence. Especially when you’re down to your skivvies! I actually prefer to find a nude beach, honestly. When I do find a swimsuit that fits me so well it feels like I’m wearing nothing- that’s a keeper!

Diving In with Iskra Lawrence

November 23, 2016
Welcome to Diving In, a new series where we sit down and discuss body confidence with inspiring women. In this piece, we sit down with English model, Iskra Lawrence. Lawrence is not just a pretty face, she’s an #AerieReal role model, an advocate with the National Eating Disorder Association and an active editor of The Runway Riot. She stars in Coco Reef’s newest campaign, Flaunt Your Shape. The campaign focuses on embracing the body positivity movement and encouraging women to show off their bodies. The goal is to show women that being who they are is not only good enough, it’s perfect. So, who better to enlist to kick off our campaign than the queen of body positivity herself, Iskra Lawrence?! Coco Reef chatted with Iskra about being a role model, her life motto and what advice she would give her younger self.
__
How did you become body positive? What was the journey to accepting and loving your body like?
I’ve been modeling since I was 13 and after I hit puberty and my body began to change. I was dropped from my agency because my hips were too large to be a straight-size model, and I was ridiculed on modeling sets for being the “fat girl.” I went on extreme diets and looked up different surgeries in an attempt to change my body into something it would never be. I realized I didn’t want to be this person, so I decided to accept and celebrate my body for what it was. It was then that my career as a model really took off — I signed with my agency JAG and started working with Aerie on their #AerieReal campaigns, which was a dream come true. It wasn’t an easy journey, but learning to love myself was the best thing for me, not only in my career, but life.
 _
What advice would you give your younger self?
Stop fighting yourself.  When you look in the mirror, stop looking at the things you don’t like and start celebrating the things that make you feel beautiful and unique. Life is too short to constantly battle yourself and get hung up on the negative.
__

How important is it to you to find clothes that fit your shape?

Shopping can be really daunting, but when you find clothes that you love and make you feel great, it can be a really fun and empowering.

What is your life motto?
The best gift you can give yourself is self-love. No one else’s love can have a greater impact on your life than your own.
__
What advice would you give for someone struggling with confidence and body acceptance?
I like to start every morning by waking up, looking in the mirror, and asking myself what I am going to accomplish that day. We are so focused on our appearance, that we often forget how much our bodies and minds can accomplish — whether that’s going to the gym, finishing a big project at work, or spending time with loved ones. By shifting that mentality, you can change your outlook on life and start each day on a positive note.

What is it like being a role model for so many people?
It is so humbling. Because I struggled for years with body image, it was important to me to use my platform to share my experience as a way to help others. Through my work with Aerie and the National Eating Disorders Association, I get to connect with so many young women and girls and talk about body image as well as mental health, which go hand-in-hand. It is both an honor and responsibility to give a voice to these issues that few people talk about.
__
How do you ‘Flaunt Your Shape?
I flaunt my shape by being true to myself! I’ve accepted my body as it is and focus on taking care of it, both inside and out.

Flaunt Your Shape in Coco Reef Swim

November 10, 2016

Coco Reef Swim

It’s easy to compare yourself to others. In fact, most of us probably do it on a daily basis, even more so in the summer months. With skin-baring swimsuits everywhere you look, it’s easy to hide behind your towel.

But as the leaders of bra-sized swimwear, we understand the curves of a woman. We know you may need some additional support and we’re here to embrace your perfect imperfections, your “flaws”, and the parts of you that you may not be as proud of. Whether it’s your crooked teeth, freckled skin, the parts that jiggle, stretch marks, your short legs, your frizzy hair, all of it. We love everything that makes you, you.

Which is why we’re moving in a new direction. We’ve enlisted three models that are not only beautiful but also empowering. Iskra Lawrence, queen of body positivity, managing editor of Runway Riot and a NEDA brand ambassador. Alexandra Underwood, commander of her curves and the founder of the Unwanteds Project. And, Camila Lopes, a natural beauty, philanthropist and yogi who embraces her shape.

These three inspirational ladies star in our new swimsuit campaign where we invite you to #FlauntYourShape in Coco Reef Swimwear. If you’re short or tall, if you’re round or thin, if you’re busty or on the smaller side, flaunt it!

In a society that profits from your self-doubt, loving yourself is a rebellious act. We’re asking you to be a rebel, embrace the movement and show the world that you love the skin you’re in!

Best Style Swimsuit for Your Body

May 8, 2014

When it comes to swimwear, finding the best style swimsuit for your body type is absolutely key. Whether you’re curvy, straight, pear shaped, or apple shaped, it’s important that you find a swimsuit that will flatter your figure and help you feel confident!

If you’ve got a straight figure, you can feign curves with a patterned or brightly colored print. Ruching at the bust creates the illusion of a larger bust, while hip details create a side curve! A halter style tankini will create the illusion of curves up top. We suggest: Grotto Snake Five Way Tankini and the Kenya Dot Mix Bountiful Bandini

Grotto Snake the Five Way Tankini Kenya Dot Mix Bountiful Bandini

If you’re curvy, you’ll want full cups to give you ultimate support! A high waisted bottom will elongate your body, and give you that supermodel length. However, don’t forget to get something with a little stretch – fabric without enough give will band into your skin and give the illusion of rolls where they aren’t. You want a swimsuit that looks smooth and comfortable. We suggest: Embroidered Mirrors Divine Power Bra or Solids High Waisted Bottom

Embroidered Mirrors Divine Power Bra Solids High Waisted Bottom

If you’re small on top, a top with underwire and/or cushioning will create the illusion of cleavage. Prints will add curves, especially zig zags, which are great for lengthening a small or short torso. Embellishments will also amp up your curves and draw attention upwards. We suggest: Brush Flower Halter Bra or Kenya Zig Zag One Shoulder Tankini

Kenya Zig Zag One Shoulder Tankini Brush Flower Halter Bra

If you’re busty, a top with thicker straps will be the perfect support that you’ll need. A built in shelf bra will hold you up, and removable cups will let you control the amount of cleavage you’ll show. We suggest: Color Blocked Spliced Halter Bra or Embroidered Mirrors Signature Twist Tankini

If you’re still unsure of the best fit for your body type, we’d be happy to help! Shoot an email to fitting@swimwearanywhere.com with your body type and any personal preferences and we’d be happy to make a recommendation!

Warm up with a new swimsuit!

January 28, 2014

There’s nothing like an icy, snowy January day to kickstart a plan for a summer getaway. The snow hits the ground, and while it’s absolutely beautiful, it reminds us of our innate need for the warming glow of sunshine. Two clicks later, and you find yourself booking a vacation to a tropical island, and making mental notes of all the things you’ll need to bring with you. Time to tuck away those snow boots and ski goggles – it’s swimsuit season.

Granted, it is only just about February, but many of us have already started our hunt for the ever-elusive ‘perfect swimsuit.’ We’re checking magazines for ideas, casually browsing while at local stores, and asking friends where they’re thinking of looking this year. Every woman wants that suit that makes her feel fabulous and glamorous all in one, while fitting her specific shape perfectly. We’ve come to realize that this is no easy task. Good thing we started our search early this year.

Inside Coco Reef

Lucky for you, The Fabulous Won‘s Jamie had the same idea. We’ve decided to help her out, and to give you all that last little push of motivation to get you through these bitterly cold days. While you’re layering up to battle the cold, we’re giving one lucky winner her choice of swimsuit to thaw out in this summer. So while you’re warming up next to the fire, let your mind wander to a sunnier place, and start thinking about which Coco Reef swimsuit you’d want to be seen luxuriously lounging in!

Whether you’ve been dreaming of our tropical and colorful Grotto Snake Collection or our stylish and sophisticated Mirrors Collection, this is the perfect opportunity to express your style and create a combo that is uniquely you!

To enter, visit The Fabulous Won’s contest page (complete with a comprehensive review of  Swimwear Anywhere), and submit the form for your chance to win! Get searching, ladies – you only have until Sunday, February 2 to enter!
